The Children Of Leo ( July 23 to August 23 )

The Leo children are the most vital and active of all the types. They are highly strung, domineering, and much inclined to show off. Actually they are often handsome, lovable children, full of talent. They excel in outdoor sports, and are healthy, tireless and able to compete successfully in and field where children are the contenders. Naturally, with all of these virtues, unrestrained, they lose their balance and show traits that, if allowed to develop, will make them objectionable adults. They are much too bossy, and should not be allowed to indulge their desire for boasting and self-praise.

It must be brought home to them that good work, well done, will sooner or later cause the proper amount of admiration, which is not nearly so important as proficiency, which is what really makes a worth-while character. Praise comes as a Renault of work well done, but the thrill should come from accomplishment and not from applause. The Leo child is very intelligent and will readily learn all the good things that he or she is taught. In fact they are strongly idealistic and crave instruction; and like to have an example set for them by someone whom they admire.

This is one child who offers a rich nature of good impulses, but because of the vast amount of energy, it needs very careful direction.

 The Leo Parent

The Leo person (July 23 to August 23) of both sexes makes, on general principles, a rather good parent. The Leo mother is particularly successful. She is a little too dictatorial and dominant, but her love is so sincere that her children soon realize its strength. She is very ambitious, and manages to procure for them every possible advantage. Perhaps the greatest fault of parents of both sexes in the Leo sign is the desire to rule absolutely over the home as if it were a kingdom. Either the ruler demands too much attention, or smothers the children with attention, making them too dependent on the advantages that they receive in the home.
