THE BRIGHT SIDE

This aspect of Leo is very bright indeed, for this is a personality very much attuned to the vital life-giving qualities of the Sun.

Flamboyant

The typical Leo personality is flamboyant and generous with tremendous charm and magnanimity of spirit which draws people close. The fixed quality of the sign, meanwhile, helps to restrain the Fire element's tendency to over-exuberance. Leos are also loyal, full of self-assurance and hard-working, being excellent organizers (so long as they are the boss). Leo's ability to play hard and the value placed on pleasure makes for an excellent companion.

THE DARKER SIDE

This aspect of the Leo personality usually emerges when Leo is being ignored, which may result in sulking, or when inferior mortals challenge the divine right to rule. Leos can be very self-opinionated and consequently bombastic and overbearing. One of Leo's most characteristic traits is pride, and there is a tendency, too, towards pomposity and snobbery.

Touchy

It can be difficult to spot when Leo is hurt (and this sign is surprisingly touchy): but the sudden drop in temperature as Leo retreats back into regal dignity provides a clue. In long-term disagreements, Leo can also prove to be something of a formidable enemy.

KING

Leos are warm, sunny and outgoing but just love to be adored and looked up to. Those who fail to recognize a Leo's innate need to be superior may find themselves on the receiving end of a right royal snub, or the victims of typically aristocratic wrath.

Friendship

Leo persons make noble friends. They draw great qualities to them, and are unstinted in their own giving.

The less exalted types offer the sort of friendship theoretically current in the underworld─ that die-hard variety of loyalty famous for endurance under stress.

The high Leo type gives a completely devoted friendship, that when properly requited, becomes a very fine relationship. The danger to the Leo friend is that unless the other side of the friendship is an individual of equal stature, this times material offerings of over generous Leo, and thus the fine balance, always a part of a successful friendship is hopelessly destroyed. Leo people, in all relationships are apt to give too much, thus despoiling the other side of their just right to be generous.

Partnership

The Leo person makes a good partner, if he teams up with someone who will allow him sufficient control. He is never willing to take a back seat, and if he is of the high type of Leo, he is trustworthy and capable. In a partnership, he should be the contact man. His personality is usually impressive, and he commands respect. He is dominant and forceful and can always take care of the outside interests of a concern. He has the power to win trust, partly because he is usually very sincere in whatever he attempts. He is a born showman, and can dramatize any business in a very convincing manner.

Personally he is not so easy to get along with. These natives have a wonderfully generous nature, for they will give till it hurts, not only themselves, but everybody else. They obligate people to the point of embarrassment, and do more than their share of everything. Great dissatisfaction is often the result of this unequal division of labor. Their tempers are furious, and they are far too dictatorial.

With the Leo native, the benefits far outclass the faults, provided the type is high and noble.
